Muriwai...

Aaaah beautiful wonderful soul searching Muriwai.  It is a place very close to my heart as its the first place I saw my hubby on my wedding day plus has so many other lovely memories associated with it.

Tonight hubby took over the night time routine (plus we're trying to wean Mr A from his night time feed so its easier if I'm just not around!) so I got out and took a few photos as the sun was going down and well after until my camera could no longer focus.  Had lots of fun playing with shutter speeds and was quite happy with my first attempt at night photography!

Sunset time tonight was 7:22pm...

Sick Child

I've had a grumpy sick baby since Saturday night so fair to say he hasn't exactly been a 'top model'.  But I did manage to grab this photo yesterday.  I've tried this shot before, but wasn't entirely happy with it, so much happier with yesterdays result.

Happy Monday everyone!

Tammy Browne

Yesterday my hubby, Ash and I caught up with some friends that I went to school with.  We had such a great time - I don't get to see these girls very often but when I do its like we only talked yesterday.  We have all taken different paths in life so you would think we have little in common but the conversation never stops flowing.

One of them had a baby girl earlier this year - Tammy.  I've only seen her a couple of times, when she was first born, and then again a few weeks later.  She is now 7 months old and the prettiest little girl - Ash had his ga ga eyes on thats for sure!

Here are a few photos that her mama has kindly given me permission to publish on this blog :)

Mangawhai

So I've been tidying up the thousands if not millions of photos on my poor computers hard drive and came across these little gems.  Photos were taken during a working trip to Mangawhai by hubby, Master A and I went along for the ride when I had the pleasure of being a stay at home mum.  I love these photos - Master A was just six months and experiencing sand for the very first time...

Summer is very much on its way...

Today was a gloriously sunny day.  It just had that summer feeling - helped by the fact I spent lunch sitting in a bar at the Auckland CBD enjoying a cold beverage, good food and a good dose of Vitamin D.  Last summer was fab, and it might just be time to get out the swimming pool once again :)

This photo if of Master A and his dad, when Master A was only about seven months old.  Its amazing looking back on this photo just how much he has turned into a little boy, and isn't my chubba chop little bubba anymore!

Sleep is elusive

If you're a mum you will totally appreciate this post.  Sleep is elusive.  So when it happens, its beautiful...

Saturday, 3 September 2011

So why am I doing this?

I have decided to start a blog.

There I've done it.

Reason?  I'm positive my numerous friends on facebook are getting sick to death of seeing photo posts and if they're really interested in seeing photos of Master A they will find their way here.

So what is the point?  I am a mum.  A mum who loves her little boy more than life itself.  Oh and her husband... and her dog... but fourth in the list is her Canon 450D.

I have a passion for photography and while I have a heap to learn my little model helps me do that, and rather than making all my lovely (and very forgiving facebook friends) have to see my end results I thought I would use this medium instead.

So if you have found this by accident, or you know me personally, welcome.  Don't expect amazing photos, just expect to see lots of passion and love for a wonderful little boy.

And here is a photo to kick this thing off...
